about the artist
jessica giovacchini

Jessica received her Bachelor of Science in Multimedia & Web Design from the Art Institute of Philadelphia. She works as a web artist for Lightbulb Press Inc. in New York City. Check out www.bead4you.com, a site she created to showcase her work.

Jessica has been creating and sellling jewelry since she was a child, a hobby that has grown into a passion. Beginning with simple stringing techniques and friendship bracelets, Jessica graduated to bead weaving and her addiction to beads grew. Her favorite materials to use are Japanese seed beads, Czech fire polished beads, brass and copper. She loves coming up with different color combinations and watching a pile of beads evolve into a wearable piece of art.

She also loves learning new techniques and mediums. She has taken lampwork classes from Leanne Blevins at Mercer County Community College. Watching a glass rod transform into a beautiful bead is amazes her each and every time. Although Jessica feels it will be many years before she feels truly comfortable with lampworking, it has opened up many new avenues to her. She's looking forward to taking the leap into glass fusing and working with PMC very soon.
