Marti Brown has been designing jewelry for more than 25 years. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in jewelry making from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio. She has studied jewelry and enameling techniques with Richard Mawdsley, Gene and Hiroko Pijanowski, Kent Venderplas, Heiki Seppa, Eric Lowry, Bill Harper, Bill Helwig, Martha Banyas and Carole Wilcox. Her most recent work includes a combination of Niobium, Silver, Gold and Precious Metal Clay® with beads and other accents. It is the color possibilities in the Niobium (Nb) that appeals to her in designing.
Her Niobium jewelry is colored using a paint brush wired to her anodizer producing a painterly, softer look than is normally found in Nb and titanium jewelry.
