Just in time for Easter and Mother's day shopping, nine Delaware Valley Bead Society members will sell hand-crafted, one-of-a-kind necklaces, earrings, bracelets and other adornments. Admission and parking are free.
In keeping with the Society's education goals, members will offer free jewelry-making demonstrations throughout the day. Visitors will also get a chance to buy fine chocolates and baked goods for gifts or on-site nibbling.
The Boutique will feature artisan jewelry made with art glass beads, crystals, gemstones, Precious Metal Clay (PMC), twisted and coiled sterling silver wire, ethnic beads, exotic fibers and more. Bead stringing, chain maille, Kumihimo, various seed-bead techniques, and wirework are just a few of the techniques that will be represented.
Participating New Jersey artist will be: Marti Brown and Kathleen von Webern, Frenchtown; Debbie Vine, Flemington; Jessica Giovacchini, Hamilton; Lisa Plasters, Milford; Patti Rinderle, High Bridge; and L. Jean West, Annandale. Featured Pennsylvania artists are: Karen Cummins, New Hope and Ann Glaser, Upper Black Eddy. Members will be on hand to discuss their work.
Bead society members giving demonstrations from 11 am to 1pm and 2 to 4 pm are Kathy Corbo of High Bridge and Roz Long of Hampton, NJ.
Truffles made by Cherie Mickley of Chocolat Cherie, Glen Gardner and baked goods by Ellie Espinosa of Cafe Hola/Ellie's Delights, High Bridge will also be for sale.
